What Roofing and HVAC Companies Promise About Calls, and When They List Being Open

This study counts two things across the roofing and HVAC companies in our US lead database: how many websites promise a response time, and what opening hours companies list. It does not measure how fast anyone answers the phone.

Data as of: . Companies in the study: Both trades 16,257, Roofing 8,654, HVAC 7,603.

Cells marked "Too few to report" cover too few companies to give a stable rate. The method below states the cutoff.

Method

Population: roofing and HVAC companies in Vandale Solutions' US lead database whose website and listing signals had been processed, excluding companies marked outside the target customer profile. Every count is a count of companies. Response promises: a scan of each company's website found sentences that promise a response or a callback, and an AI model confirmed each one. The rate is companies with a confirmed promise divided by companies with a website on record, leaving out companies whose candidate sentence was never confirmed. Each promise is placed in one group, checked in this order: availability claims (24/7, 24 hour emergency, 24 hours a day, around the clock), same day (same day, today, within the hour, or a number of minutes or of hours under 24), within 24 hours (24 hours, one business day, next day, within a day), within 48 hours (25 to 48 hours, 2 days, 2 business days), longer (any other stated number of hours, days, weeks or months), and no time stated. A range counts as its upper bound, and when several times appear the shortest decides. Group shares are shares of companies with a confirmed promise. Opening hours: read from the schema.org opening hours on the company's website, or else from its Google Maps listing (where Open 24 hours counts as open 24 hours and Closed as closed). Companies with no hours, hours in any other format, or a day listed as opening and closing at the same time (00:00 to 00:00 can mean closed or open all day) count as unknown and are left out of the hours rates. Open in the evening means at least one weekday that closes after 18:00 or after midnight. Open on the weekend means any hours on Saturday or Sunday. Open 24 hours means at least one day listed from 01:00 or earlier to 23:59 or later. Every rate is reported for both trades together and for each trade, with its counts. A cell with a denominator under 30 is suppressed. No company names, contact details, locations, review text, review ids or links are part of this dataset.

Limitations

  • The companies come from one lead database built for outreach, not from a random sample of all roofing and HVAC companies in the United States. The rates describe this group only.
  • An AI model confirmed each website promise, and it can be wrong in either direction.
  • A promise or a set of listed hours is what a company says. It is not a measure of how the company answers its phone.
  • Opening hours come only from structured data on company websites or from Google Maps listings. Many companies publish neither, so the hours rates describe only companies that do.
  • Listed hours and website promises can be out of date. We read them between late August and the date shown at the top.
